Special Election Results

On Tuesday, May 16th Kay Kirkpatrick (R) won the special election for the state Senate for District 32, which was vacated by previous Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta), who resigned to run for the 6th Congressional seat. Sen. Kirkpatrick has been an orthopedic surgeon in the Atlanta area for the past 30 years, and resides in Marietta. GCUA had the opportunity to meet with Kirkpatrick on May 10th to develop a relationship, and our congratulations to Sen. Kirkpatrick as she leads up to her first state legislative session in 2018!

As an aside, the voter registration deadline to vote in the Congressional runoff for the District 6 seat in Washington, D.C., (that opened the above state Senate seat) has been extended to Sunday, May 21st. That election day will be held on June 20th.
