Getting to Know the Team at the Statehouse

During this session while we are in the process of looking for a new GA lobbyist, we are pleased to share that our retained consultants/lobbyist are hard at work looking after Georgia credit unions. For the last few years GCUA had contracted with JL Morgan Company to help supplement staff. With the changes at LSCU we have added to their duties while we search for the best person to add to the LSCU advocacy staff to represent GA credit unions at the statehouse! We made a conscious decision to not move too quickly but to take our time and find the person who can help lead Georgia credit union advocacy efforts at the state level.

Background to help you get to know the faces at the statehouse for LSCU… JL Morgan Company is a public affairs team that utilizes their 35 years of combined experience to provide clients with results-oriented public affairs strategies and tactics that are unparalleled for their consistency and quality among Atlanta-based public affairs firms.

Two of the group who will be watching and advocating on behalf of credit unions are:

Jay Morgan, Principal

Jay Morgan

Jay has developed a reputation for building strong coalitions to withstand controversy on touch issues in his role as an advocate for some of the Fortune 500’s leading corporations and business organizations. Politicsmagazine.com named him as a “Top 10 Georgia Influencer” for 2010 and commented, “He is at the top of his game.”

Embracing the entrepreneurial spirit instilled in him by his father and grandfather, he established his own firm in 1996 after serving as Senior Vice President of the former firm of Edington, Wade, and Sanders. He is the former chairman of the Economic Development and Taxation Committee for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Council. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, a premier state-based “think tank,” as a member of the board for The Essential Economy Council, and as the immediate past chairman of the Georgia 4H Foundation.

Lauren Pollow, Legislative Director

Lauren Pollow

Lauren will be the lead for the team working on credit union issues during this 40-day session. She is a results-driven lobbyist and consultant with seven years of experience in public policy. She has represented clients on a wide range of regulatory and legislative issues. She has demonstrated her understanding of legislative processes and has a proven track record with grassroots advocacy and issue campaigns. Her success in guiding clients through complex regulations and examining how shifts in policy impact operations has afforded Lauren the experience necessary to support our clients on every level. She worked with a large association as well as the top lobbying firm in New York prior to moving to Atlanta and her experience gained in that arena is an asset to our family of clients.

We believe that utilizing the strength of the team at JL Morgan Company will help ensure that Georgia credit unions are well positioned during this session.
