It’s important for those we elect to state and federal offices to understand the industry, what makes it unique, and what matters from a legislative perspective. It’s important for them to have a connection with you and your credit union! If your credit union has new branch openings, celebrations, please reach out to your local, state and federal elected officials to include them. No events? No problem – reach out to your legislators with a quick note and thank them for their time. Of course, one can also connect with legislators at civic organizations/chamber events – but take the time today to reach out. Building a relationship today can help grow the level of influence for the future!
