Creating Influence

Focus on “ALL IN” for Credit Unions at Annual Meeting/Convention

During the week of May 15ththrough May 19th, the GCUA Annual Meeting and Convention for credit unions was held in Savannah. “All In” was this year’s theme, and it embodied the spirit in which credit unions make an impact on the lives of those in their membership, in their communities and in their credit unions through the “all in” commitment to helping people afford life. Participants heard from state and national leaders of credit unions and other industries who provided strategies, ideas and inspiration to take home and be “all in” at their institutions.

In the lineup of speakers who illustrated how credit unions can engage, strategies to consider in the changing future, and navigate the world around them, credit union participants were treated to insight from those who regulate credit unions: NCUA Associate Regional Director of Operations Robert Parrish and Department of Banking and Finance Commissioner Kevin Hagler. These individuals provided credit unions with insight into regulatory focus and legislative changes of note for the industry, and from Commissioner Hagler’s perspective the positive aspects of the credit unions in Georgia. To see the Annual Convention in a social media snapshot you can do so on Twitter or Instagram utilizing the hashtag #CUinSavannah, but the best way to experience it is live. Make plans to attend next year, this time at Jekyll Island from May 13th – 16th, 2019.
