Creating Influence

Primary Runoff Election Next Week

The primary runoff is next week on July 24th, with several races around the state that will be decided. Runoffs, even those with high-profile statewide races such as three on the Republican ballot, typically have low turnout, making the votes of those who do show up count all the more. While election years and politics can be daunting at times, elections provide an opportunity for all credit unions to make a difference, build legislative influence and connect with members. Georgia credit unions have a resource to do so without taking a political side or stance, by simply encouraging your members to vote, through utilizing ElectionWatch.

This online tool offers information on key election dates, how to register, where to vote, how to change a polling location, and various information on how to get more information on the races and candidates for state and federal elections – and takes the fear out of being engaged. Add ElectionWatch to your website and/or online employee portal. If you’re dying for more, there are additional resources on the site ranging from social media content to newsletters and on-hold messages.

Getting involved in the elections is not scary. But not encouraging the 2 million members in Georgia to vote? That would be a horror!
