Advocacy in Motion! Georgia Credit Union Leaders Traveling to D.C.

Credit unions from across the state will be traveling to Washington, D.C., for the annual Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), which begins on March 10th. This conference also involves “Hike the Hill” visits with members of Congress to promote credit unions – an aspect imperative to pursuing legislative initiatives for the industry. These meetings are a good window to share the credit union perspective on issues with legislators and key staffers, and the sheer force in numbers makes a visual impact. Thank you to those traveling to D.C. to lobby on behalf of the 2 million members. Some tools for anyone attending the GAC (or those who want to get a sense of what it’s like):

Special thanks to all the credit unions attending that meet with the members of Congress, as well as all the Georgia credit unions statewide who updated their membership numbers with Project Zip Code to illustrate the presence of credit union members in the district!
